What's Rock for Change all about?
Rock For Change is a campaign for a proper live music venue and music facility in Enfield.
Rock For Change started as the Facebook group '10 000 people for an Enfield music venue' created in early 2009 by Laura Harvey. The group attracted thousands of local young people in just weeks. In late 2009, Mehmet Imamzade, a local youth campaigner got involved. Now Laura and Mehmet head the campaign in partnership.
What do we want?
The main aim of the campaign is to drum up support for the idea of a dedicated live music venue with approx. 400 capacity. As well as just a venue, we want this to be a musical hub for Enfield and the surrounding areas. It could have practice rooms, a recording studio and space for music workshops and recreation.
What have we done?
The first step is to liven the local music scene by holding monthly gigs with local bands. See the gallery for photos of previous gigs.
